The brief

Win the shortlist, win the call.

That buyer searches, finds three or four names, and calls them. Winning the work starts with being one of the names they find. Ambica Traders had no website when we started and no presence in local search.

The build

What we built.

The website first

They had no website when we started. We built it, then worked on ranking it for the terms buyers use when they need tarpaulin in volume.

Local search next

No presence in local search meant losing buyers before the shortlist. We built the local signals that decide which suppliers appear for a nearby search.

A Business Profile that sells

For a manufacturer, a Google Business Profile does more than list the company: it puts the phone number inside the search result, so a buyer can call without visiting the site at all. We optimised the profile, fixed the categories, and the information buyers check before they call.

Discovery

How buyers actually find them.

Google Search, mobile 9,506 (55%)
Google Maps, mobile 5,462 (32%)
Google Search, desktop 1,917 (11%)
Google Maps, desktop 446 (3%)

Eighty-six percent of discovery happens on a phone, which is the device a site foreman or procurement buyer has on them while they are working. A third of it comes through Maps, far more than a service business would see, because someone buying tarpaulin in quantity wants to know where the supplier actually is before they commit.

The step change

Monthly calls roughly doubled in one window.

Call volume roughly doubled between April and May 2026 and held at the higher level through July. The growth arrived in a window rather than accumulating evenly.

Same months, a year earlier
656 calls
March to July 2026
753 calls

On a listing carrying the right categories, photographs and trading information, the buyer has enough to call without needing the website first.

The outcome

753 enquiry calls in five months. Every one from a buyer nobody paid to reach.

Each call came from a buyer who found the company in search and picked up the phone without anyone paying for the click.
